With origins in both Egypt and India, later popularized by the fusion between Indian and Jamaican culture, dreadlocks have been both a cultural definer and hairstyle go-to. Popularized in the 1970’s predominantly by the Rastafarian and Reggae movements as well as notable artist/musician, Bob Marley, dreadlocks have taken on a life of their own, becoming prevalent in fashion, art, and (of course) hair culture.
The explosion of social media has allowed for dreadlock culture to expand, with dreadlocks of every color, shape, and style shown across our feeds.
