BLKR SKN: A New Skin Consultation Service For Deeper Skin Shades

Taking care of your skin this summer should be of top priority. The texture, look and overall health of your skin can affect both your mood and self-esteem. Skin care brands, medical professionals and influencers alike have been on the rise as more and more people realize that great and healthy skin is truly attainable for all. Unfortunately, so often many skincare advertisements and professionals lack in-depth advice geared towards black and brown skin. However the answer to this is: BLKR SKN.
BLKR SKN is a new skincare consultation service focusing on proper skincare for dark and deep skin tones. They are focused upon helping people create and shape their skincare regiments while “filling the education gap” between black + brown people and skincare professionals.
The found of BLKR SKN is Zeenat Braimah, a NYU student and creative who is an Influencer Outreach Intern at skincare brand—Atolla, an Offline Editor at Glossier, Harvard VVM scholar and a Forbes Under 30 scholar.
According to Braimah, “The initiative was created to provide free skincare consultation to Black folks to mitigate stress on skin during these times; subsequently aiding in the development of better skin habits. The financial and mental stress of going through the medical system—while many dermatologists play the guessing game—is a saddening reality for many deeper tones”.
